Despite not having a chance to head into the final match of the season with a possibility to become the Spring Season Champion, the Jacksonville Armada FC (6W-6D-3L, 24 pts, 3rd place) still has plenty to play for Saturday against Indy Eleven (3W-8D-4L, 17 pts, 6th place).

After a thrilling finish against Puerto Rico FC, the Armada FC pulls another point closer to the San Francisco Deltas for second place in the standings. The Deltas will face the challenging Miami FC on Saturday, the team that has already claimed the Spring Season title.

Jacksonville will be looking to close out its best season in franchise history with three points on the road Saturday in Indianapolis. The club will be riding some momentum after Derek Gebhard came up clutch once again for the Armada FC against Puerto Rico FC. After falling behind on an unfortunate break in the first half, the boys rallied for a dominating second half performance. They were finally rewarded for their efforts in the 92nd minute when Charles Eloundou beat two defenders to find Derek Gebhard in front of the net for the dramatic equalizer.

The Armada FC will be facing a different Indy than the last meeting in June. The team has won three of its last four matches and has not lost since facing Jacksonville.

During Saturday’s match against New York, Indy found the back of the net early with a penalty kick from Don Smart. However, the Cosmos responded just 10 minutes later with an equalizer from Emmanuel Ledesma. The match would remain tied until the 75th minute when forward Justin Braun put the Eleven on top for good.

Cheer on the Armada FC from home for Saturday’s season finale on ESPN3 at 6:30 p.m. EST in Indianapolis as the club looks to collect three points and secure second place.

The series is tied at 2W-4D-2L
