JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Armada FC will face off against Orlando City B in the first-ever meeting between the two clubs. Saturday’s friendly will be held at Patton Park with kick off scheduled for 7 p.m.

The final preseason game will be the first matchup between the two clubs.  The Armada faced MLS club Orlando City SC during the 2016 preseason when they defeated the Lions, 2-1, but have yet to battle with Orlando City B (OCB).  OCB is a USL club which played its inaugural season in 2016, and is owned by Orlando City SC.  OCB finished in 8th place in the Eastern Conference and made it to the Conference Quarterfinals in its first season.

The Armada FC are coming off a 1-0 victory over USL’s Tampa Bay Rowdies, and are looking to defeat another USL member when it faces off against OCB on Saturday. Midfielder J.C. Banks scored the winning goal in Saturday’s match against the Rowdies with a shot that snuck its way into the upper left corner of the goal.

With only two preseason matches left, the Armada FC are looking to go undefeated in preseason play for the first time in club history. The club has recorded two wins and three draws in the first five matches, including a dominant 5-1 victory over Flagler College, and Saturday’s 1-0 win over the Rowdies. The match against OCB will be the beginning of a new in-state rivalry, and the Armada FC is looking to strike first.
