Two Signings Strengthen 2017 Armada FC Roster

Defender Devon Fisher joins the team, while goalkeeper Kyle Nasta re-signs

Jacksonville Armada FC announced today the re-signing of goalkeeper Kyle Nasta and signing of defender Devon Fisher. Per NASL and club policy, terms of the agreements are not being disclosed.

Nasta will add depth the goalkeeping unit, joining Caleb-Patterson Sewell. He initially joined the Armada FC last September as the first-ever signing from within the club development pyramid. Making six starts for the U-23 team in 2016, He finished with a 1.17 GAA and helping lead his side to a second-place finish in the NPSL Sunshine Conference.

Prior to joining the Armada FC, Nasta starred for local NCAA Division I side University of North Florida, where he was a two-time All-Atlantic Sun Conference selection and finished as the school’s Division I career leader in saves (150), wins (18) and shutouts (10). In 2014, he was named the A-Sun Goalkeeper of the Year.

The Jacksonville native came up through the Armada FC Youth Academy, then known as Jacksonville FC, and also played high school soccer locally at Episcopal High School and Mandarin High School.

Devon Fisher joins the Armada FC from the Seattle Sounders FC 2 (S2) in the USL. The defender signed with the team in their inaugural 2015 season and played 1,586 minutes in 26 appearances in 2016 alone.

The Virginia native began his professional career with the Portland Timbers U-23 Premier Development League side in 2014. Fisher totaled 21 regular season appearances and one goal and then moved on to the USL Portland Timbers 2 (T2) in 2015. He played only four games with the team before joining S2.

Fisher played three seasons at Virginia Commonwealth University and earned multiple honors including his naming to the Atlantic 10 Second Team and the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Region Third Team. He netted 12 goals and made five assists in his 62 appearances with the Rams.

The Armada FC returns to action on Saturday at 2 p.m. for a preseason match against the Tampa Bay Rowdies. It will be at Patton Park and is free and open to the public.
